For the show broadcast between April 5th and April 11th, 2008
Nick was in a great mood, but rather focused on all sorts of legal items. People getting in trouble with their computers in a myriad of different ways. From Swedish criminals who almost got away with an electronic bank heist, to a woman who was pretending to be harassed by a co-worker, by creating a false identity on a Yahoo website, and a guy who created a website and spammed a bunch of people with naked pictures of his ex-girlfriend.
Amazingly enough, the crime spree continued to other areas, like the guy who was accused of sneaking into a church and... well, you've got to listen to the show audio files below to see how this works into the computer world! The show audio also contains more details about spam filters not working properly, a Craigslist hoax that got out of hand, what a jealous man did to his wife's computer, the story of the stolen laptop, and a kid who crashed her car while huffing (breathing) so-called "canned air" to get high. Listen to the audio files, and get amazed!!!
OK, so we actually did talk to people as well... Wally had problems with his Acrobat reader, and Pat had problems with his iPod, and Bill asked about website based backups vs. local hard drive backups. We also talked about a worm that is hitting D-Link routers, as well as the alternative software based installations available for Linksys routers (daring users can see this Wikipedia entry)
Fun stuff, eh?
