Show notes

For the show broadcast between May 10th and May 16th, 2008

One of the most entertaining segments that Benjamin has seen, was Nick discovering his picture on the cover of the website.  Nick also sent some interesting notes to the website via our contact link here...  Nick and Benjamin also mentioned the various Google perks like a food budget, solar panels, video games, and more.  Great company to work for... if you like 120 hour work weeks!

Some mention was made of volume license agreements, and how licensing works, with a discussion about Microsoft, Symantec, and Veritas.  Nick also brought up "If Microsoft Made Cars" (link is to a Google search of a number of lists along these lines).

Sharon asked about printing labels on a PC or a Mac, and Benjamin had a great suggestion for how to get the best labels.  Kristi asked about backups, and Benjamin suggested his favorite, http://www.carbonite.com .  Allen was concerned about some issues with Norton Internet Security getting in the way, and Benjamin covered the basics there.  Freddy asked about sound cards for music production, and Nick came to the rescue (being quite familiar with how a radio studio works).

Benjamin also answered some e-mails on the air that came in from our contact link here...  David asked for a free program that will show what is taking up all of the space in his hard drive, to which Benjamin referred him to Treesize.  Frank asked about resizing partitions, and Benjamin suggested Partition Magic, as well as (and Benjamin had a lapse of memory, so here's the link...) Avanquest's Partition Commander.  Another gentleman named David had a question about shy his computer wasn't shutting down all the way... and saying "It is now safe to turn off your computer"...  (you can listen for that answer!!!)

And one of the greatest calls we ever had... WAS A WRONG NUMBER!  Angie called on one of the backlines, and we answered questions about her DVD not working, show desktop icon not working, and a corrupted file.

You don't have to dial a wrong number, instead, you can e-mail us right here, and we will contact you back to get you on-air!

Fun stuff, eh?
