For the show broadcast between February 7th and February 13th, 2009

Juries are the foundation of our justice system, which says that people are to be tried by a “jury of their peers.” However, this may be becoming more and more difficult. Anyone who has ever gone in to serve on jury duty knows how long the list of ineligible people is. However, another group is emerging as difficult. Youth these days are used to information being presented visually in video games, websites, and more. They have problems sitting around just listening to something for any long, given period of time, which may lead to problems in the future. The jury system is going to have to adapt, though no one is really sure what form this adaption will take.

Information is for sale everywhere these days, both legally and illegally. Unfortunately it seems that the illegal sale of information is taking a new turn. People called “Carders” build false Bank of America or PayPal websites to get your credit card information, then sell it to the highest bidder, who will drive you broke without your knowledge. Not only this, but usernames and passwords being sold. Carders will make profiles about a person, with a full name, a social security number, and whatever else can be gathered. This information can be used to hugely wreck your bank account, driving you broke, especially in this economy.

This week Benjamin interviewed Jean from www.DigitallyDaunted.com, a site for helping you navigate the digital world with ease and security. You can get product reviews, definitions or digital vocabulary, and tips on protection online. Check out the site for more information.

Everybody loves lists, and this week Benjamin brought us a list of things that likely won’t survive the recession, such as paid wi-fi, landline phones, and more. For the entire list and the reasons behind them listen to the show audio below.

An interesting story Benjamin brought us this week is that there may be money in YouTube! Not a whole lot of course, but there are many people making a living off of it since Google bought the site for 1.65 billion dollars. All you have to do is sign on to a partnership with Google and start making videos, where you can be off you your fortune! Right? Probably not… Though you can make some money, its not a lot. Basically, you get a small commission from Google based off of the ads connected to your videos, and they get to try and justify buying YouTube… Good luck with that.

The internet seems to be a growing place for sending out private information, as mentioned with the Australian Couple served with court papers via www.Facebook.com a few weeks ago. Now Microsoft is jumping on by laying off thousands of people via e-mail. These pink slips were e-mailed and programmed with Digital Rights Management, meaning that the e-mails could not be printed or forwarded, leaving the employee no proof either. Sure, when you’re laying off that many people you want to be quick about it so you don’t waste to much time… but e-mail? That’s just cold. Ice cold.

Additionally, Benjamin talked about the hazards of micro chipping people with RFID tags to track them. RFID tags have been placed in some livestock for a few years for tracking, and now it may be used in people. The theory is that if someone is kidnapped or goes missing or gets hurt then they can be found. But what if the government just decides they want to keep tabs on you? Or what if a pedophile does? This is a scary subject, and while many states have already outlawed the forced implantation of humans with microchips, people could be encouraged to do it, or whatnot. If you have a question or comment on this matter please contact Benjamin here at www.ComputerTalkRadio.com.

Lastly, Benjamin interviewed Bill Carey, the Vice President of Siber Systems, which has created RoboForm, a program which automatically puts in passwords and fills in forms for you, Check it out at www.roboform.com!

This week in E-mails Harriett asked if the DVD was dying off, and Mike wrote in to ask where he can take his computer to have it cleaned and worked on.
