For the show broadcast between March 28th and April 3rd, 2009
Everyone loves looking cool with fun fonts, so Benjamin brought us a list of great font sites, like www.ddfont.com, www.typenow.net, and www.fontempire.com. Many of them are just the standard list of fonts, while others allow you to save an image and isolate a font in it, which the site will then find for you.
Benjamin brought us another customization tip on computers with a how-to on using multiple monitors. This allows you to work on more at once by not having to switch between windows because you have more space. You may need to upgrade your graphics card, however, because of the extra stress it will put on your computer. You may also need to use a program like Ultramon to make the process more manageable as well.
This week Benjamin interviewed Ben from PBS Kids’ Play. Kids’ Play is a branch of PBS that works of educational video games for kids.
Benjamin also talked with Aaron about Rapid Repair, a company which does repair services for electronics. They also spoke about the new 240GB iPod Touch.
In more news, the Supreme Court has declared that it is unwilling to revive the Online Content Law, which is intended to protect minors from inappropriate material. The Bush Administration pushed them to revive the law, but the Justices refused to budge.
In the contacts department, Tracy e-mailed Benjamin asking why she could get her upstairs computer to link with her router, but not her laptop downstairs.
Benjamin also brought us tips on e-mail this week with hints on organizing and following up on e-mail. You can use your e-mail service to put flags on messages and give them priorities, reminding you to follow up on them. You can also then use these flags to search for mail by flag.
Lastly, Benjamin brought us news on Netbooks and their effect on their market. They originally started as part of a project to bring a laptop to every child in developing countries, and have now expanded into the next hot item on the computer market. It seems that while companies have been trying to give more and more items in more and more space, consumers really wanted basic necessities in a compact and convenient shell.
