Show notes

For the show broadcast between February 6th and February 12th, 2010

This week, Benjamin spoke with Alan Sutton, of CyberClean, a company which produces a putty-like device for cleaning electronics. Just roll it on and peel it off, taking the dirt and grime with it. It’s both non-toxic and biodegradable, meaning its harmless for you and the environment. For more info, check out the show audio below.

In the News, Benjamin brought up some scary figures on the expensive new iPad, wich runs from $446 to $829. According to one Wall Street analyst, the material cost for an iPad is really only about $270. So where does the extra price come from? That’s a huge profit margin by any standards. However, this is not odd for Apple, who in cases like the iPhone 3GS have a profit margin of around $60! Something fishy is definitely going on over at Apple.

Of course, Benjamin also provided info on some programs and tips/tricks for good use.  One such tool was the new System Mechanic 9 from Iolo Technologies. He spoke with Abbas Medhi from Iolo about the new System Mechanic, which includes many new tools, like Incinerator for Recycle Bin and the Total Registry Revitalizer. For more info, listen to the audio!

In more news, Benjamin also found scary information about Twitter accounts, which can be sold for $1000 after theft.  Of course, hackers have been stealing accounts and personal info for years and as their technology gets better, they can hack more and more things. Most of this tech comes from China, and as people get their hands on sensitive information, and sell it off for huge sums of money, as seen by Twitter accounts. Keep very close eyes on private information!

In the Contacts department, we received an email from Lucinda about upgrading her web browser. Lenny asked about copying files to a CD, and Richard asked about keeping his pictures in order when he burns them to CD.

Lastly, Benny came on the air to discuss football and gaming. Despite the fact that on-field practice has decreased t decrease injuries, is football players are getting more and more practice from video games, due to their ever-increasing realism. We expect this trend to continue in other ways as well.
