For the show broadcast between February 20th and February 26th, 2010
In quick stories this week, Benjamin brought us news that Google has offered free email coverage to Yale, but many of the students are upset about this due to recent Google mail outages as well as the fact that they will have access to their information for data mining. Microsoft released information about Windows Phone 7 this week, which is a mix of the Zune and Xbox Live. Benjamin also covered Cyber Shockware, a government simulation run this week to show how vulnerable we are to cyber attacks.
This week, our father-son duo spoke with Jeff from PlayOn about his service, which allows you to watch online TV and net-based videos like YouTube and Netflix from your TV or video game console. Check out their website at www.playon.tv, and don’t forget to listen to the audio below!
With the Census starting up soon, many people are worried about whether or not the people taking their information are legitimate government workers. Remember at all times that the government will not send out questionnaires via email. They only come through the mail, so do not respond to any emails from people claiming to be from the Census bureau.
Twitter for dogs? What? Umm… Yeah. Just listen.
On a more normal subject, Benjamin interviewed Jennifer, from The Print Shop. It’s an image-making software, but much easier to use than other products, even for someone completely computer illiterate.
Additionally, in the contacts department, we received a question from Gil and Kay, asking about netbooks and if they’re right for them. Also, Micah called in frantically because he dropped his valuable smart phone in the water and needed to know what to do. Lastly, Rodney came to us with a question about MIDI and how it works.
